Character
At the time was not common having references like environment scans, hdris or anything that may help doing a good lighting, so this one was done using only the perception of the light and shadows of the other elements in scene. For the character lookdev and the hats I needed to create something that was neither too realistic or stylized, so the solution was creating something like a cartoon skin shader with few bumps.

Environment
I was in charge of creating all the lighting for the environment, there wasn't any reference for it so i had freedom to make it the way I wanted.
The ogre lighting was created separately by other artist but he used my own as base for it.
For the textures and lookdev, we were never going to see in close, so the solution was doing something quite simple first and only modify and add more details for what was really needed.

Character and UFO
All the textures were done by other artist and my job was only to adjust it to make it look good, specially the characters. Since they were inorganic, several masks and adjustments were needed until the approval.
For the lighting, The company in charge of it only asked that the character look very visible, so many lights adjustments were needed outside of the "usual" VFX way of doing lighting.

Mannequin and Clothes
For the mannequin I used a base mesh in Zbrush and modified to make it feel like a real one, but for the clothes I created a base using marvelous Designer and finalized in zbrush, adding wrinkles and folds when needed. Everything was made separately, so FX artist could add the animations.
The light itself were very straight forward, but without hdri, scans or references of the real place as usual at the time.

Airships
For the lighting, at first I wanted to do it like in a real space, with just a few secondary lights, but since it is a commercial we went for a more idealized way of the space, but using the earth as a reference for the main bouncing lights. The textures and lookdev were a mix of already made textures and new ones to make all the airships feel very unique.

Quite simple lookdev and lighting, but to make it feel the way the client wanted took several iterations, so some extra lights were added to make the reflection be exactly the way they wanted.

Bottles
A pack shot lighting and Lookdev to show the products, keeping consistency with the environment light is important, but the main goal here were make it pop, doing something very colorful and adding highlights to specific parts of it to make it feel hyper realistic.

Oranges and Bottle
Both lighting and lookdev for those were done in order to be integrated to the table and real oranges, but not too realistic since showing the product in this case was priority on top of perfect realism.

The bottles lookdev were made to emulate as close as possible the real product, except the hands and feet.
For the lighting, it was already filmed in a good way, focusing in the presentation, so trying to match it was the main task without too much adjustments.

This dragon was bought with textures already made, but to make it work well I needed to adjust it as long as was doing the lighting, including a new SSS texture to the wings.

The textures were created using 2d images as reference, we used some projection on top of the model and fixed by hand what wasn't working properly. The lighting was a spotlight to make it feel a circus but always focusing in the lettering in the center.
